Dr. Parmar is board-certified in child, adolescent, and general psychiatry and completed his general psychiatry residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. He also completed child & adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry fellowships from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Because of his training and experiences in Forensic Psychiatry, Dr. Parmar is qualified to be a forensic expert in various fields related psychiatry. He has over seven years of experience in treating and evaluating adults and children in different settings (e.g., outpatient clinic, inpatient state hospital, correctional treatment setting). He has testified in more than 100 proceedings for civil commitment and court ordered medications. Additionally, Dr. Parmar provides teaching on topics pertaining to forensic psychiatry at multiple training programs across Texas.

Dr. Parmar is well-respected by patients and peers alike and has presented at numerous regional, national, and international seminars and conferences.
